Garuda Indonesia Donates Educational, Health Care Facilities to Luwuk, Central Sulawesi.
Garuda Indonesia corporate communications vice president Benny S. Butarbutar said education and health care are of key importance to society's welfare.
"Garuda Indonesia is certain that education is an important tool to produce adequate human resources. The quality of education in can influence the changes and the residents' quality of life. The same goes for the quality of health care, which is aligned with the society's welfare," Benny said.
Luwuk was chosen not only because it is one of Garuda's domestic destinations, but also because of its struggling economy. It is situated in Central Sulawesi, which reportedly has lower than the average national income.
The national airline aims to support the government in improving the quality of education and health care in underprivileged areas.
"Garuda Indonesia's support towards the advancement of education and child health care is also part of our corporate social responsibility and our commitment to help the government provide welfare across Indonesia," Benny added.
Garuda currently has 137 flight routes, serving 18 international destinations and 62 domestic ones. Passengers can fly to Luwuk from Makassar on Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft.
