At least 30 people are thought to have been injured, officials in Bali, Indonesia, have confirmed.
Too many people are thought to have been passing over the bridge for a religious ceremony.
The sea beneath was less than two meters deep – but many of the victims were crushed by debris.

Bali is a highly popular holiday destination for British tourists.
But at this stage, it is not believed any tourists have been caught up in the chaos.
Indonesia's search and rescue agency has stopped the search for bodies.
But a spokesman has confirmed that the search will resume tomorrow.
The Yellow Bridge, which links the Indonesian islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, collapsed at 6.30pm local time.
A spokesman for the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said eight of the victims have been identified.
