India-made Hyundai i20 sporty black with red accents 2016 Indonesia Auto Show.
The Hyundai i20 premium hatchback has made its Indonesian debut at 2016 GIIAS in a sharp looking black color theme. The exhibit demonstrates that the i20 can get very sporty with just minor spruce-ups. The Indonesia-spec i20 is imported as a CBU from India.
The show car is finished in a glossy black exterior color option with matching after market alloy wheels, and aerodynamic body kit with contrast accents (the chin gets red accent). It also gets a rear spoiler and daytime running light strips integrated into the front fog lamp enclosures.
Interior is left untouched. The full black color theme adds to the hatchback's sportiness. The dashboard is equipped with a multifunction steering wheel and touchscreen infotainment system.
Salient features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, alloy wheels, fog lamps, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, multi-info display, etc.
The premium hatchback for Indonesia comes powered by a 1.4-litre Kappa petrol engine which is tuned to deliver 100 PS and 133 Nm of torque. Customers can opt for a 6-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic unit. The 1.4-litre engine with automatic transmission is expected to be introduced in India this festive season.
Hyundai Indonesia has started accepting orders for the i20 but the prices are yet to be announced. Deliveries are likely to commence in the coming weeks. The sporty premium hatchback will be going head on with the Suzuki Baleno which also debuted at GIIAS today, Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz, etc.
