Malang Immigration Office Deports Turkish Citizen.
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malang Immigration office deported Tiflis Kemal, a Turkish citizen, for exceeding the limit of his temporary residence permit. Guntur Sahat Hamonangan, Head of Malang Immigration Office Monitoring Sub-Section said that in addition to the deportation, Kemal will be forbidden to travel to Indonesia for six months. "We will send Kemal back to Turkey from Juanda International airport on Wednesday morning," Guntur said on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Guntur announced that Kemal, who was born in May 1994, has been living in Malang with his mother Asnifa since back in 2000. Kemal's only identification paper was a passport belonging to Asnifa with his picture as a little kid.
Asnifa was living in Malang after being deported from Saudi Arabia. Kemal's biological father is a Turkish citizen and is said to be still living in Saudi Arabia when the Saudi government deported his mother.
Asnifa later return to Arab and Turkey, while Kemal was left behind with his relatives in Jalan Raya Langsep, Districh Sukun, Malang. Kemal who does not have a birth certificate did not finish elementary school, and was working odd jobs to make a living. He had never extended his living permit since he was left by his mother.
Kemal was charged for violating Article 78 (3), point (6) of Law No. 6/2011 on Immigration. According to Guntur, Kemal had previously visited Malang Immigration office on July 18, 2016. At first Kemal lied about his true identity as a foreigner and claimed that he had only wanted to make an Indonesian passport.
Officers suspicious of Kemal's true intention later forced him to reveal his true identity as a foreigner.
